Re: Connecting a Silkworm 200e to a HP 8/12

Richkell

Those numbers were changed to protect my innocent switch.  Cause frankly Im not sure if those license values can be reused by a crawler.  I'm not exactly Fibre savy.

Re: Connecting a Silkworm 200e to a HP 8/12

As the Fibre turns.

Still not cooperating with me.  As I learn more and more about Fibre though Im seeing some issues pop up.

I have a silkworm 200e which I believe is a 4gig switch which connectes to a Brocade 8/24(i just swapped it with a known good working model)  which is connecting to my 4gig fibre mezzanine cards in my servers.

Therefore it is my thought that the Brocade 8/24 models that I am using should be 4/24 models instead.

could this be the culprit?

Thanks

Re: Connecting a Silkworm 200e to a HP 8/12

Found the problem

It was actually three part problem.

1 the SFP i was originally using was incorrect and not compatible with the brocade switch.

2 the brocade and mezz cards were not in compatible slots on the chassis

3 The chassis midplane was not configure correctly for the switchs installed.

Thank You everyone for your assistance.
