Re: Brocade200e firmware upgrade...

Nigel,

I don't think that you can fix a physical connection issue with a FOS code update.

Sometimes it is tricky and you have to sort out double failures.

Did you have a loop connector for a test of the SFP in port 4?

Can you take a working link to check if port 4 is working?

Sorry for my stupid questions but it is difficult to know what you have done.

Re: Brocade200e firmware upgrade...

Hi Andreas

I thought the same but I am not sure what else could be causing the issue.

I have tried a loop connector and tried a working link test but still no light.

Is it possible that the por is faulty and the switch needs replacing?

Thanks

Re: Brocade200e firmware upgrade...

Nigel,

I have no idea.

You can run portcfgdefault 4 for port 4

This will reset the lockdown of the port but this doesn't fix the No_Light status.

The errdump does not show any errors.

If you are 100% sure that you have not a cable, HBA or SFP issue I would suggest to open a support case with your OEM.

Re: Brocade200e firmware upgrade...

Thanks for checking Andreas

I think I am going to have to raise a support call, the switch is still under warranty.

Re: Brocade200e firmware upgrade...

I gave up after two days of trying to update the firmware to a switch of these, is 5.1, try to move to 5.2.3 - 5.3.1a - 6.0.1a - 6.12b - 6.2.1 - 6.2.2e. and do not succeed, always the same error 0x44 - 0x12.
try several ftp server's, and nothing. is very complicated.
concerned with the DCFM and nothing.

FOS Upgrade Is very simple.

sound like a big dump is present and Update cannot be started successfully.

check if any such Dump is available and remove.

another problem can be caused by Incorrect configured LAN to  FTP Server access, IP Setting, etc..

and make sure the switch in not behind by any Firewall.
