Brocade 425 (FC) HBA - what configurations do I'e to do to directly connect to a SAN?

Hello,

I would like to connect my Brocade 425 Fibre Channel (FC) HBA to a fujitsu fibrecat SX60 but the HBA doesn't see the fibrecat.

Do I've to change the port type becaus it's unknown?

What configurations do I've to to for direct connection?

I also see error 0040040 in the tab POM...

Last August I had the same issue. It turned out to be a compatibility issue. Your case is the same. Your disk array is not supported for DAS connectivity.

Please take a look at the brocade compatibility list:

http://www.brocade.com/downloads/documents/interoperability/Brocade-HBA-CNA-Interoperability-Matrix.pdf

Go to page 9 (DAS Support).

The solution in our case was one of two:

1. Buy a switch and use it to connect HBA->switch->Disk Array

2. Change the HBA for a different one that will support your disk array.

Check with your Fujitsu representative so they can tell you what is the best solution for you.
