Brocade 300

I have the following question; please advise me.

We have 2 brocade 300 switches, one with 8 ports active and another with 16 active ports.

These 2 switches are in different sites.

In the first site where brocade 300 with 8 active ports working is adding some servers and we need more ports.

Can we take the SFP modules and the POD license and to put it in the second switch?

Re: Brocade 300

Hi Andrei,

you can not move the POD-license. The POD-license is bind on the License-ID. Part of the License-ID is the WWN of the switch.

The SFP you can move, when you have the correct license.

Kind Regards

Re: Brocade 300

No. The switch runs autonomously in your data center. Brocade has no further influence on it. If it would be possible to "move" licenses it would mean you would simply be able to copy them. And of course no vendor would like you to buy a license once and then copy it around to all switches in your data center. They are priced per switch.
