Adding a new switch to an existing fabric.

I have been given the task of adding a new switch into our existing fabric. The existing fabric consists of (2) 2400's and (1) 3200. The new switch is an EMC DS-16b. It will be connected through an ISL to the 3200. What must I do after the physical connections are made for the new switch to become part of the existing fabric and then be able to zone the ports of the new switch accordingly? The firmware versions are as follow. 2400's 2.6.1b, 3200 3.1.1b and the EMC is 2.6.0f. Any help is appreciated.

Re: Adding a new switch to an existing fabric.

First, upgrade the firmware on the EMC switch to match the version that you have on your other 2.6.x switches.I would suggest downloading the trial of Fabric Manager and running a Fabric Merge Check on the switches before adding the new one to the fabric. This will ensure that there are no issues with adding it to a production fabric.
