Hi!
I'm new to Ficon, and i was asked by my manager about what does apt policy matters ina standalone B48000 director ?
In my understanding, the apt policy works when you have more than one route/path to a specified destination and its algorithm decides wich one to use.
Said that, is the apt policy used to manage the paths on internal BE ports in a B48 ? Never thought about that, so, sorry if it is a dumby question.

Hi there,
The routing policy (aptpolicy) is applied to both, internal and external ports. So it also affects standalone switchs.
When using Exchange Routing policy (aptpolicy 3) the load will be balanced throughout all the backend trunks between the ASIC and the CPs (2 trunks to each CP, 4 in total), whilst when using Port base routing policy (aptpolicy 1) the load will only use one of the trunks.
Rgds,
Felipon
