Manual DLP upgrade from 14 to 14.0.1

Copy the upgrade files to "SymantecDLP\Protect\updates\" . Here in the picture below a folder "Upgrade_14.0_to_14.0.1" is placed..

Extract the files "14.0.1_Upgrader_Windows.jar" in the same folder

Once extracted run the start_upgrade_wizard.bat as an Administrator

A command prompt tomcat window will open

in the command prompt when the line reads

Starting ProtocolHandler ["http-bio-8300"]
Server startup in 8375 ms

open the supported browser and type https://localhost:8300

8300 is the default upgrade port. After the page opens, type the DLP console username and password

Click on 'Accept' button and proceed for upgrade.

To check the incompatibility any issue , click on Next.

The running version of the Enforce and the OS compatible once checked and window shows up next step for an upgrade. Click on 'Next' Button.

The upgrade file distribution status is shown. This setup is a single tier architecture.

Click on 'Next'.

Pre check once completed successful , click on 'Next' button. As noticed, the Vontu services are stopped for upgrade.

Click on 'Next', it will upgrade the Enforce server.

the upgrading of enforce software details are shown in the window, it then follows up upgrading the detection servers

once completed, click on the 'Next' button. During upgrade process, if no failure is seen, click on the log files to download and work with Technical support team.

The above picture informs if the incidents are to be stored on external storage for DB disk space utilization. In this example, it's been unchecked. If it needs to be enabled, specify the drive/path of the USB. Click on 'Next'.

If the information needs to be shared with Symantec, enable the telemetry and select whether it's production or test version. Once company named is specified, click on 'Next'.

Upgrade the detection servers through upgrade wizard, else detection servers can manually be upgraded.

Once upgrade is successfully completed. Click on 'Finish'.

 

Login into DLP console to verify the servers have been upgraded.
