I'd like to share an interesting application that allows to uninstall dozens of different antivirus programs from a computer system.
It can help for example in case you have to remove an antivirus applications in case of errors during removal or when you need to replace a security application with another .

The AppRemover program is a portable software , free for your personal, non-commercial, use.

Supported Operating Systems :
Windows 2000, 2003, XP (32 / 64 bit), Vista (32 / 64 bit), 2008, Windows 7 beta

I support your views. There might be  a few system-specific settings which might go unnoticed by a generic universal thingy. It is also little risky considering the version updates of individual AVs and obsolescence if any of the generic tool.

In fact this uninstall tool is just in case of errors running official uninstall.

Almost every antivirus has removal tool. I would advise just try the related uninstaller. I learn from my experience. No time for searching too much.

Hi Team,

I had also tried Cleansweep before and it worked good.
We may also use the Perfect Uninstaller as alternative.
It also cleans all registry and drivers that the applications had added.
Issue might be that it is not free but the link below gives a trial version.

Link is below.

are you affiliated with the AppRemover group?
Does it support switches so it can be used in a script?

Good find, even though the included SEP uninstall scripts cover the majority of AV uninstall options, sometimes we run into situations where programs like this can be beneficial.

I remember using a program called Cleansweep which worked like a charm. Just my 2 cents.
