Last Thursday we made the exciting announcement that Fireglass is joining Symantec to bring our market-leading web isolation platform into Symantec’s security portfolio. By combining the Fireglass leading True IsolationTM technology with the Symantec Integrated Cyber Defense Platform, Symantec further extends its leadership in secure web gateway, endpoint and email protection on-premises and in the cloud.
When Dan Amiga and I founded Fireglass in 2014, our vision was to develop a new, simple and secure approach to cyber security that would change the industry. We believed that to truly prevent malware attacks the initial infection must be prevented, and the only way to achieve this is to not allow any web content to reach the endpoint. This was much easier said than done, but thanks to our incredibly talented and dedicated team, it’s been an intense ride and we made it happen. We were lucky to have some of the best developers in Israel join in this effort early on who were soon accompanied by our excellent operations, support, and marketing teams, as well as our fantastic “fight to the finish” sales and pre-sales teams in the US and UK. In just a few years and many late nights, we took web isolation from an idea to an enterprise-grade product serving several F100 and dozens of other large organizations, and protecting tens of thousands of users. Over the last 3 years, with malware becoming more aggressive and quicker to inflict damage, our vision has proven to be true and Fireglass has pioneered and lead the web isolation space. We’ve earned the recognition and respect of industry experts and analysts, most notably being recognized as a Gartner Cool vendor only a few months after coming out of stealth. To say I’m proud of our team is an understatement!
We are thrilled that Symantec recognizes the tremendous potential of our isolation technology for protecting enterprises against malware and phishing, and we are honored that Greg Clark, CEO of Symantec, has selected Fireglass to join the Symantec family. Harnessing Symantec’s scale and breadth of products, this acquisition will enable us to realize the full potential of our technology and enable enterprises worldwide to benefit from our isolation platform.
We’ve had a few days to let this great news sink in and to celebrate, but we haven’t been sitting on our laurels. We’ve already begun working closely with the Symantec leadership to integrate our solution into a unified portfolio while continuing to enhance our market leading isolation platform.
