Hi, we are running DLP 15.8_MP3 and have successfully mapped our MIP profile and pulled in our label taxonomy. Our issue is that DLP doesn't recognize the MIP labels in the file metadata. Wondering if anyone else is also experiencing this issue? Thanks!

Hi Ed, we don't have that issue but we did recently upgrade to v15.8 (it was a bear compared to other upgrades for some reason) and can't get the MIP profile to synch. Did your MIP configuration go smoothly?

It turns out that Broadcom admitted this is an issue, due to DLP only looking at the legacy label location in the file metadata. When Microsoft changed the location of where they store the label, DLP could no longer see it. They plan to release the fix for this in the v16.0_MP1 release, so we just went through a v16.0 upgrade in anticipation of this MP release. I'm told Q1, 2023.

Yes, our MIP configuration and nightly sync process to our MIP taxonomy went smoothly, once our Azure team set up the application connector for Broadcom DLP.

Even with the MIP synch errors we're using the following rule to detect the label GUIDs. I first used the keyword "msip_Label" to find what the GUIDs were. Hoping this helps you. We're still using on-prem detectors for email inspection.

Please see 12/23 post about the fix coming in v16.1.
