  • 1.  What is the expected time to get SEP packages for Alma Linux

    Posted May 29, 2025 05:24 PM

We are building so many servers based on Alma linux and SEP fails to get installed.

We even created a support ticket with TDSynnex/Broadcom and they told as of now SEP do not support Alma linux.

Please publish the packages as soon as possible.

    Hi,

Thanks for using the Broadcom Community!

TD Synnex is correct!  We don't offer any support for Alma Linux with SEP at this time.  However, while this is true, Data Center Security (DCS) does support Alma Linux 8 for your reference.

    Thanks.

Again. That's a different product that seems to have support for most Linux based OS than SEP and require additional license which we are not looking for.

We are anticipating the release of SEP that will be compatible for Alma Linux.

Can you please check with Broadcom's executives, on their plan to publish this version of SEP.

    Hello again,

Thanks for the update.  I understand your point.

I just wanted to offer that as a alternative in the case you did.

Additionally, I checked with my internal resources and due to "low demand" for Alma Linux support for SEP, this it isn't a high priority for us.  However, that could change once we have more customer's asking for it.

I would suggest you and any other customers interested in this to open a case with Support, and work with them to make your interest known.

    Thanks,
