  • 1.  Upgrade to VIP Enterprise Gateway 9.10

    Hi Experts,

    User try to upgrade from a 9.9.2 version to 9.10
    Did follow and check the minimum requirements based on this techdoc - Prerequisites (broadcom.com)
    Perform the upgrade activity through LiveUpdate, unsuccessful. When check the liveupdt.log file, noticed below logs

    9 Sep. 2022, 5:25:24 pm Running /root/LiveUpdate/packages/1662708308513/1662708322910/files.txt ...
    9 Sep. 2022, 5:25:24 pm
    9 Sep. 2022, 5:25:24 pm The Java LiveUpdate session did not complete successfully.
    9 Sep. 2022, 5:25:24 pm Return code = 127

    Based on this KB (Troubleshoot VIP Enterprise Gateway LiveUpdate and manual upgrade issues (broadcom.com)) user have run the diagnostic tool and found most of the error is related to the certificate validity, below is one of the error logs

    ERROR "2022-09-09 17:00:04.748 GMT+1000" "[VipDiagnostic:testCertificateValidation] Validity error for Certificate Alias: deutschetelekomrootca2 [jdk]"
    ERROR "2022-09-09 17:00:04.748 GMT+1000" "[VipDiagnostic:testCertificateValidation] CertificateExpiredException occured while checking validity. Error: NotAfter: Wed Jul 10 09:59:00 AEST 2019"

    Could be that the reason why user can't upgrade the version? User did try manual update as well, but received error message "Upgrade is not supported from the current OS version" even user are using linux 7.9.2009

    Appreciate any kind advise.

    Hi Abdul,

    Upgrade from 7.9 version of Linux should be possible but seems you are running into some other problem which is causing this behavior.
    Can you share the following and this issue will be better managed if you open a support case.

    1. Update.log
    2. /etc/os-release file details or /etc/redhat-release
    3. EG Console logs in DEBUG mode
    4. What is the memory configured on your machine?

    Let me know the details and if possible open a support case as we will need files to review on our end and there is a possibility of engaging other teams as well.
