Starting in mid-July, Russia will be blocking delivery of SMS messages that do not use a pre-registered sender number. At this time, only humanitarian organizations can complete registrations so we are unable to continue with our current delivery approach. As such, VIP will be switching its SMS delivery service to use Twilio Verify for delivery to Russia. This will enable the solution to continue to provide security codes to those users who have a Russian phone number.
The body of the SMS message will change slightly due to the fixed message format and will not allow for customized content. The old and new message content is shown below
[Old message] Your Symantec VIP temporary security code is 012515.
[New message] Your VIP verification code is: 012515
We plan to release these changes in the next couple weeks so that they can be completed before the mid-July cutoff. Please look for a service notification announcing these updates.
