Important Watchpoint -if you are not already on subscription licensing,  it's wise to check with Broadcom Support that your license type is supported before you schedule the upgrades. A note should be added, perhaps to the release notes, Mike?

Broadcom forgot that some organisations purchased multi-year perpetual licenses, which means that these are not supported with this latest update. You'll need to contact your support partner, who will then contact Broadcom to get this resolved. The old-style licenses will let you upgrade, but they will leave you with an unlicensed (zombie) infrastructure.

@ianaitken - I am not aware of any changes to the manner in which perpetual licenses are handled within the product that were made in the ITMS 8.8 release.  I am not sure that your hypothesis is accurate.  I know that the issue you reported is being investigated by our team

@ianaitken - It is my understanding that this issue has been resolved and that the underlying cause was not related to the use of perpetual licenses.  Instead, I believe that the issue was related to a change made in ITMS 8.7.3 and the presence of a license file with expired maintenance and support for pcAnywhere, which reached its End of Life in 2014.  It's my understanding that the issue was resolved by deleting this license file.

Moreover, I should note that a point fix has been released to address this issue.
