Hi,
We do something similar to “cache” the files ready for deployment so when the deployment change opens there is no delay in the execution, to do this add a dummy command line command: CMD.exe /c “Exit 0” this will download the package and keep it in the cache folder indicating a success return code to the SMA, and you can tract the download via the AeX_SWD_Package table

Subject: copy package directory and files
Hello,
I have a software package that I'd like to copy down to c:\Install\TouchNet on client PC's. I could use xcopy / robocopy in an Altiris script that would map to the package location and copy the files down. I am wondering if there is a "cleaner" way to go about this. Ultimately I'd like to use a package delivery task but not run the install (yet) as this application can't be installed silently (yet). Thank you!
