There is no direct migration path from Symantec Encryption Desktop 10.x to Symantec Endpoint Encryption version 11.0.1. This is being addressed in the next Endpoint Encryption major release, 11.1.0.
Currently, you would need to decrypt the system, then you should be able to utilize the Symantec Endpoint Encryption v11.0.1. You don't need to uninstall the Symantec Encryption Desktop, but for SEE drive encryption to function, SED (PGP) drive encryption must be out of the picture. Also, you must have the Management Agent Client installed before you can install the Drive Encryption Client.
Landing page for SEE v11 is here for documentation:
Thank you for the quick respnonse Mike.
I would like to know is there any way, we can report 10.x client to SEE 11.0.1 server ?
Any guidelines of POC of SEE 11.x version would be helpful !
There is a section in the SEE v11 manager that you can link to your existing Symantec Encryption Management Server that will store the WDRT's for the PGP clients on the SEE server. That is the only integration between servers thus far.
I wrote a couple articles for setting up SEE v11 here:
The install guide is here:
Thank you so much!!
Do we have admin guide for SEE 11.1?
All of the guides can be found here:
