  • 1.  Custom Data Class for Internet Explorer

    Posted Mar 07, 2022 09:30 AM
Hi, I am fairly new to Altiris and hope that somebody can help me.  I am planning for the Internet Explorer 11 retirement and need to be able to see its status on each of our computers.  I will be using the command below to confirm the status but need to see its status in Altiris to enable reporting.

    dism /online /get-featureinfo /featurename:Internet-Explorer-Optional-amd64

What is the best way to add this information into Altiris?  Would that be to create a custom data class?  If so how can I do that?  I have read this article but it focuses on registry values  How to Inventory a Specific Registry Entry Using Custom Inventory

Any help will be greatly appreciated!

    Hi Ian,

There are multiple ways, if you check the console, manage > software, expand All Software > All Software Products, search for internet explorer

Or you can use the following KB to setup targeted INV scan: https://knowledge.broadcom.com/external/article/158244/software-inventory-does-not-detect-some.html

    Kind Regards,
