  • 1.  LDAPS Directory Synchronization error

    Hi,
    We're running Symantec Encryption Server 3.4.2 MP4.
    We currently have Directory Sync set up using LDAP over port 389 and it's working fine.

    I'm looking to switch to LDAPS on port 636 but I'm getting an error:

    LDAP Test Failed

    The host could not be reached. Please check your settings and try again.

    I checked and the password for the service account does not have any special characters, only numbers and letters.
    Other applications are able to authenticate using LDAPS on port 636 on the same domain controller.

    Has anyone seen this or have any tips.

    The issue was that the password did actually have special characters.  I had to change it to only numbers, letters, and capitals letters.  Once I did that, LDAPS directory synchronization completed successfully.
