Good morning Ain!
1. Ain: This KB article mentioned that once license expires, WSAS will no longer work.
It also mentioned once maintenance expires, Software update policies and inventory rule scans will continue to function.
IP: As far as I see, "License Expires: If the License expires (Temp or Subscription license type), then Patch Management stops functioning. No Patches can be deployed, and System Assessment Scan will not run." means that this license has expiration date, mostly "Trial", "Subscription" license type, then Solutions functionality will doesn't continue to work. If there is a perpertual license with N/A 'License Expiration date' but with 'Maintenance Expiration" date, in this case Customer can continue to perform assessment scans, distribute existing updates, perform full inventory but unable to perform new PM Import.

2. AIN: Is Maintenance License different from subscription license?
IP: This KB https://knowledge.broadcom.com/external/article/178715/altiris-licensing-technical-faq.html describes
- Maintenance is an old "AUP" - Annual Upgrade Protection)
Note about perpetual licenses:
The vast majority of our customers were converted from perpetual licenses to subscription licenses.
We don't make sales of new or additional perpetual licenses at this point.
What is the main question is? You have expired perpertual licenses and can't perform assessment scans, full inventory?
Best regards,
IP.

Subject: Questions on license expiry and software update policy
This KB article mentioned that once license expires, WSAS will no longer work.
It also mentioned once maintenance expires, Software update policies and inventory rule scans will continue to function.
Questions:
1. Is Maintenance License different from subscription license?
2. How does software update policy continue to work when assessment scan does not run?

Ain
