I have been seeing issues with SEP 14.2.5569.2100 not scanning properly on OSX. This is happening on both Catalina and Mojave.
During my testing (on multiple Macs with 10.14.x and 10.15.x), I have encountered various scenarios:
get the error "scan failed because of a scan engine problem" immediately upon trying to scan
when I right-click a folder and select 'Scan with Symantec', it starts to scan then says 'Scan Error' with a 'Fix Now' button
when I attempt a full scan, it finishes immediately and says no issues found (and I mean within 1-2 seconds)
I have added the SEP app to have full disk access, and have also verified that there are no extensions pending approval. I have read elsewhere that others were having similar issues with this version of SEP on OSX - is there a fix or any workaround I can try? Thanks!

Just in case anyone else still searching for. You can go to the Downloads page, and look for Endpoint Protection.
Once in the Endpoint download page. The All_clients zip file contain a refresh build for direct installation.
As of now, it's build 5587 as of writing.

Hello Alan,
Are there some release notes available? The release number is the same (14.2.2MP1) so it's really a pain to go to the download portal and check the file date to be aware of any new change.
Thanks

Gratstein,
Did installing a newer version fix this problem in Mojave? Now that we are in the third month of 2021 and we update SEP every month I'm fairly certain we are using the newest version and I'm still having the same problems you had. I've also tried several older versions and making sure everything is in Security & Privacy/Privacy and still no success. Thanks for any insights!
