Enforce and Detection Server Upgradation / Migration - New Operating Systems

    Hello Team,

    My current infrastructure state is:

    Enforce/Detection Servers - 14.5 (Win 2008 R2 SP1)
    Oracle - 12.2.0.0.1

    My desired state is

    Enforce/Detection Servers - 15.8 (Win 2019)
    Oracle - 19c

    I have 2 options available here. I can go for either Upgrade or Migration

    If I go for the upgrade, my proposed path is

    Upgrade DLP 14.5 - 15.1
    Upgrade Win 2008 R2 - Win 2016
    Upgrade Orace 12c - 19c
    Upgrade DLP 15.1 - 15.8
    Upgrade Windows Win 2016 - Win 2019

    This path would be quite tedious as it requires multiple OS and Application upgrade

    On the other hand, I can create new machines for Enforce/Detection Servers with the same IP and hostname. Shut down all current servers and migrate to 15.7 Enforce with the backup of EnforceReinstallationResources.zip file. Install new detection servers and redo all the integrations.

     

    What do you guys suggest? And please let me know if I missed any point in the Upgrade/Migration part.
