    Hi,

We have just purchased the Symantec Messaging Gateway S450 Hardware Appliance.
And are ready to deploy it in our existing environment.

We couldn't find any details of the ports and components of the S450 appliance.
There is a Quick Start guide but it does not tell us all the details.
Is there any document that details all the ports and hardware components and what they are used for.

I have attached an image from the Quick Start guide.
What are the four RJ-45 ports used for.

    Thanks.

They are on board  NICs and are, currently, not used by the SMG.
The "eth0" and "eth1" ports are to 10g (copper) NIC cards.

    Hi,

    Thanks for your response.

As per my understanding. The normal procedure is that eth0 and eth1 are used for management as well as inbound and outbound mail traffic. right?
So, if we want to keep the management ports separate and the inbound and outbound ports separate, what will we do in that case.
Also, is it possible to trunk these ports, and create a single management port.
