From the admin cli prompt enter "password" and you should get prompted for a new password.

Hi tpa. Thanks for the reply.

Actually the scanner was deployed by someone else. We don't know what password he set for the admin account on the Scanner.

Is there any possibility that we can reset this admin account password for the scanner CLI? its a virtual appliance on VMware.

    Thanks

Alex is correct. (as usual ;) )
Support can help you do it, but you can't do it on your own.
Other options you might try are:
    1.  Install from ISO onto a new VM and "add" it to the BCC.
(Its a VM, right?  so the time involved here is just running through the bootstrap, etc. )
IF you go this route, you would want to quiesce the existing image (don't let it accept new email and wait for the current queues to drain).
    2.  Take a backup of the existing image (I think you can do this from the BCC), install as in #1 above, and then restore the backup to the new image.
Whatever works for you, either way, you end up with an image that YOU have set the CLI admin password on.

But the "official" recommendation is to contact support.
