  • 1.  taking lot time to update from 10.6.4-3 to 10.6.5-1

    Dear Support,

     

    I am trying to upgrade SMG and its taking lot time to get install almost it took 3 and a half hour and it is in still process  

     

    can anyone have face the same issue ??

    I have seen this take 4 hours. Just let it go. Don't reboot during the upgrade. If fearful, call support. Lates.

    Hi,

    Done, I was not able to upgrade to  10.6.5-1 getting an error cannot perform a software upgrade

    So we jump directly to 10.6.6 it was successfully upgraded.

    I just  bought and upgraded to Snow Leopard 10.6.3 a week ago. The minimum version I needed to be compatible with my new Microsoft Word 365 2011. It took two hours to upgrade.

    Hi Guys,

    I would like to share my experience with update.

    We have also tried to upgrade SMG 10.6.4-3 to 10.6.6 but it was failed.

    We have tried to upgrade twice in SMG GUI mode but everytime SMG was unable to complete download of update packages and at the last stage of download it  auto logged out and lands to the login page.

    I have cleared update data and retried but no luck.

    also tried it with command line but in command line it was not initiating download, finally I have tried local install but still not succeeded.

    Finally I came to know that 10.6.4 & 10.6.5 are having update issue, please check the below article

    I have raised ticket with Symantec to provide solution to this because the fresh installation via osrestore is not the solution where one has to recreate policies and settings from the start.(due to limitation of SMG backup restore to the same version)

    Anyone who waits that long to upgrade is bound to have issues. Stop waiting, 10.6.5 has been out for years. Even before broadcom bought symantec they were saying to upgrade. Sheesh.
