    Hi,

Does Messaging Gateway provide masking/masquerading when used with O365?

    Thanks,

What do you want to do ?

A customer is currently using the Symantec Messaging gateway to mask their email address/domain on emails going in and out of the company.

For example, if the customer is @company.biz, for outgoing emails the gateway changes the email address from @company.biz to @company.com, which is what the recipient sees.

For incoming emails, the gateway changes the address back from @company.com to @company.biz

The requirement is genuine due to several child domains within the organisation's parent domain.

Will this still work if the customer moves from Exchange to an O365 setup?

Yes, SMG provides both masquerading and aliasing features.
I don't think O365 enters into the picture at all.
Just make sure you have all your ducks lined up and it should work like a champ.

OK, Thanks guys.  Good to know it works with either Exchange or O365.

The customer also wanted to move from Gateway to ESS but we advised against as masquerading was important to them.
