How to retrieve Encryption Management Service Pass phrase from Symantec CCS Console ADAM

    Hi Team,

In our migration approcah we build Symantec CCS environment in a new fresh data centre and use the same passphrases (Encryption Management Passphrase & Application server service Passphrase) which were used by the other service provider when they build the environment for the same client.

The list of passphrases which they provided seems to have wrong data, because after migration when we tried to setup the service account it asked for the Encryption Maangement Services Passphrase but wehn we entered the passpharse which was provided to us. We got pop up of incorrect passwords

Can someone from this community can tell us is it possible to have the old passwords from ADAM.

    Hi Joshi,
I'm not aware of the possibility of retrieving old passwords from ADAM, would be scared if there is such a way, however, there is a way to change (re-set) the encryption passphrase. Of course it has some drawbacks like losing all your stored credentials, but still, my argument is that if you're building new CCS environment you should know all those asset credentials required for data collection anyhow or at least be able to set/reset them.

See the following steps on how to reset the encryption passphrase: https://support.symantec.com/us/en/article.howto76357.html

I would contact Micro$oft as Adam is their stuff. Lates
