    Hi ,

I have recently deployed Symantec Encryption management server (gateway email encryption)

i am facing some issues need your help

i have set the keymode to SKM in symantec encryption manager

email encryption is not working with internal users specially when the user has not intalled desktop pgp client. As i dont want email encyption to be managed at user end .It should be done through server side only . but its not working when ever an internal user send an encrypted email to the other user in the same domain the email is recieved as a plain text it should be encrypted .

for external users if i dont know the public key of recipient then web protection for emails can be used?

As this is situated in a gateway placement, emails between internal users will never be encrypted, as the mail server (Exchange for example) will never try to route it through the SEMS.

I'd highly recommend you setup a round table discussion between your Mail Admins and a SEMS Subject Matter Expert.

Regarding the external user question, the answer is yes, but it does require you make some configuration changes to the SEMS' Mail policy to disable the "Always secure With Key Only" Rule in the "Outbound: Secure Message" chain (amongst other changes).
