  • 1.  Black List Categorization

    Posted Oct 22, 2021 06:15 PM
    Hello Team,

We have already implemented a policy to prevent access to unwanted/suspicious categories and websites(explicit proxy), including any indication of sexual category. There is one category which is (Mutual content/Potentially Adult), that I didn't include as its gather a lot of websites and causes many disruption to the users.
My point is, I need to classify (YouTube) or (Mutual content/Potentially Adult) that will deny any video/url under unwanted or sexual categories. Is there a way to apply that!!
    Hope my request is clear!

    Thanks,
    Jalila

    Hi ITA,

The question is not very clear :) but taking a guess, you want to block Youtube Videos that contain Adult Content or unwanted/sexual ... content , is that right ?
If so then the only way to do this by enabling this awesome feature that proxy has for Youtube Categorization , it allows you to apply policies specifically for the Youtube Content Categories, categorized by the Youtube them self using the Youtube API key.
There are a couple of steps that you must do in the order to enable the Youtube Categorization on the proxy before you can use the Youtube Categories in the Policies.
    Everything you need is here.

    I hope this helps.

    Hello,
Mixed categories works same like layer order.
If you deny Potentially Adult in Layer1(higher layer), and allow Mixed Content in Layer2(lower layer)  user will access the site.

If you want to block youtube categories you should go with Youtube Categorization.
First you need to create a Youtube API. Youtube API has default limitation. If your user count higher than 200+ you should watch the request count. If request hits the limit all youtube categories will shown as "Unavailable".  You can increase API limitation by contacting with Google.

After you complete API creation and applying steps, you need allow/deny rules. You can follow below link.

    Hi  Slava and Erdem Ocal,

Many thanks for your response, appreciated.

I was able to create YouTube API v3 and it works well. Unfortunate I faced an issue with the VPM, I couldn't apply the perfect order to categorize YouTube as there are different categories under YouTube URLs as below screen:

I tried to do the CPL but I faced difficulties as am not familiar to it!  Could you please guide me how to implement it? hope it is not through CPL only!

    Thank you!
