    Posted Sep 12, 2012 08:53 PM

    Hi,

When I login to SEPM via http://localhost:9090, I can also see the menu for SPC. Is this SPC the same with the one needs to be installed on physical/VM?

Can I also manage Symantec Brightmail and Web Gateway from this SPC shown on the SEPM console?

    Tq.

    Hello ddynzaza;

To answer your question, the SPC you see on the SEPM logon page is referring to the SPC 1.0 program that is AUTOMATICALLY installed when you install SEP 12.1

Again, it is SPC 1.0. It has a smaller feature set than the SPC 2.0 program, primarily in the reporting arena.

You can integrate almost all of the same applications into the SPC 1.0 as you could with the SPC 2.0.

You will get the ability to "integrate", but again, you don't get all of the reporting, and you don't get the work flow integration with SEP 12.1 that SPC 2.0 has.

You can integrate the Web and Brightmail Gateway products, I believe.

No need to stand up a separate server or purchase a web core license, or do much installation, since it is done for you. :)

Again, lots of diffferences and feature set changes between 1.0 and 2.0, but if 1.0 works for you....

    Regards.

    Russ

    Hello,

Sorry, I didn't see the follow up question.

    Please look here:

    https://www-secure.symantec.com/connect/forums/how-login-here-symantec-protection-center

    default username is admin

    default password is admin

You must change this as soon as you logon.

If you have ever logged in before and have forgotten the information you can reset it by following the information here:

    https://www-secure.symantec.com/connect/forums/lost-symantac-userpassword-my-server-consol

Is it SEPM(Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager) that you have problem with?

If yes, go to C:\Program Files\Symantec\Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager\tools and run resetpass.bat file, Command prompt wil appear and will disappear in few seconds.

Try login with admin as the username and admin as the password, after this It will as you to enter new password.

I"m sorry, please be more clear on what errors you are now getting.

I will be out of the office at a conference, so I may not be able to answer. This is a SEPM support issue, so you might try calling in about it.

Otherwise, the articles linked have all of the information that I have available about this issue.

    Greetings,

Please locate your SEPM logs (So, look on the SEP Management Server for the logs.) Most likely you will find these in

    C:\Program Files\Symantec\Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager\tomcat\logs

You can also try using the SEP Diagnostics tool (http://www.symantec.com/connect/forums/did-you-know-about-sep-diagnostic-tool-0) to gather the logs.

The standard run will allow you to review the information. The higher runs require special decryption of the files.

You need to make sure that the Systems you are trying to connect with have similar system TIME settings and that any options that "Enable" them to integrate with SPC have been turned on. Any IP Restrictions to the Consoles must have the SPC servers IP included (if applicable).

    Regards,

    Russ

My case is I have one SEPM server and on Symantec Management agent 7.1(altiris).

Now if I am taking web console of both the application on my desktop then I am very much able to do that.

If I want to connect this 2 server through SPC on my desktop then it’s giving error like above screen short.

Please suggest is it possible me to do that or not?
