We are looking to use Windows Provisioning packages, utilising the OEM OS, to rollout new windows 10 devices rather than rolling out a windows 10 deployment install.  This is pretty straight forward but as our client does not use the Enterprise version of Windows 10, sticks with Professional, we are having issues pushing out feature update using patch management.  We have added the professional update to a policy but as the OEM is reporting back as "Windows 10 Pro" rather than Professional it does not see it as a valid update.

Anyone else come across this or have any ideas as to how we could get around it using PM?

    Hi Martin,

may you clarify whether assessment doesn't identify Windows 10 Professional feature update as applicable to these machines or you get a failure during installation (as ISO doesn't get identified as suitable)?

    Thanks,
    Dmitri.

    Hi Dmitri

Thanks for the response.  The assessment does not recognise the device as requiring the update.  I have tried pushing the update out as a task rather than policy but it comes back as successful with the output properties below

May you share STPatchAssessment.log and STPatchAssessment.xml from "C:\Program Files\Altiris\Altiris Agent\Agents\SoftwareManagement\Software Delivery\{6D417916-467C-46A7-A870-6D86D9345B61}\cache" folder on problematic machine?

Apologies for the delay I had applied the updates by other methods so had to get another device up and running, here are the requested files from that device still not picking up the 1909 update though it is picking up and installing other patches applied to it.

    Hi Martin,

I compared the logs with the other Windows 10 Pro machines that get Feature Updates successfully and everything seems to be in order.
May you double check that you don't have "Windows 10 Pro (x64)" unselected in Import Patch Data UI? (there are numerous options for Windows 10 editions there)

    Hi Dimiti

We have the same options ticked for Windows 10 Pro N, the majority of the estate run this, as we do for Windows 10 Pro.  We get the files downloaded for the Windows 10 professional policy as expected and have the policy enabled the same in both Pro N and Pro but  we cannot update these OEM devices as they do not seem to be seen as applicable by the policy
