    Hi All,

We have a customer that still runs Server 2008 R2, the customer does not have the extended support to receive updates from MS, however I see some updates are still available to download, i.e. https://support.microsoft.com/help/4565539

The customer wants to deploy the update, however we can't tell them what servers are applicable for the update, is there a way to find the applicability rule?

Sure we can check all 2008 r2 servers for the DNS role and that would give us a baseline, however the dll versions and the like is what we are after exactly the way the system assessment scan would evaluate the vulnerability.

    Anyone done this before?

    Thanks and stay safe!

    Hi Sterling Archer,

situation with Windows 7/2008/2008R2 security updates is the following at the moment - they are all available for download (including 4565539) but they will fail to install on computers without ESU license applied and activated (or to be more precise they will get rolled back on post-installation restart).

    Thanks,
    Dmitri.
