  • 1.  Java licensing for Java 8. After January 2019

    I am not seeing a lot out there for solutions to this change and was wondering how everyone else is handeling this situation. I turned on Application meetering to start tracking usage, but have yet to find a good replacement for Java 8.  I currently have around 8000 endpoints and sticking with Oracle could be very costly.

    HI Mark, I am also planning on tracking java usage application metering.  Mind sharing your  application rule for java app metering?

    Hi Jean,

    Sorry for the delayed response. I never received a notification that there was a reply to this thread. 

    I was able to setup meetering Under the Software policies. Search for Jave and you will see "Usage Tracking" option. Click on that and configure meetering to track the Java.exe usage. I attached an image for you to reference. For us it ended up being less than 500 instances of the java.exe being called and even less where using it for an extended period of time. For now we are going with Amazon Corretto.
