Our fleet currently have an OS identifier combined with an asset number as it's hostname, we've been using the Apply System Configuration to rename the computers (getting rid of the OS identifier) but was stuck trying to find a method of getting this done on multiple computers. There is a range method, but this requires us to have consequtive computer name targets so not our solution. We have around 2000 computers that need to be re-named!
We're keen on still using the Apply System Config task as this does a great job at renaming and removing the old, changing the AD object etc. Does anyone have any idea on how we could do this? or any similar task? We don't use Ghost and I can see this has the option to re-name using a token, is there something similar I can use here?
