  • 1.  Cannot install Symantec Encryption Server on HPE Gen10

    Posted Mar 15, 2019 05:26 PM

I procured a HPE Proliant DL360 Gen10 to replace my DL380 Gen6, and I cannot very far into the installation before it just stops.

I worked with HPE Support and they believe whatever flavor of Linux is in this version of Symantec Encryption Server3.4.2 MP2 is just not compatible with this Gen10 Proliant.Has anyone else had this expereince?

Is this incomapatibilty the final word? the hardware compatibility  lists HPE, along with Dell  and IBM, for whatever thats worth.

    Hi Lysol,

Looks like it uses CentOS 6.x as per the TN below:

    https://support.symantec.com/en_US/article.TECH248336.html

As long as it is the 64-bit version of CentOX 6, then the HPE ProLiant you have will support it. Check below:

    http://h17007.www1.hpe.com/us/en/enterprise/servers/supportmatrix/cent_os.aspx#.XI5CgbhS-Uk

If so, it cannot be the version of the OS.

    Thanks!

thanks for the post but only servers with strictly 32 bit versions are supported, unless support is misinformed. Very frustrating. There is no up to date hardware compatibility list.
