Since my iPhone was upgraded to IOS13 everytime I get the notification to approve access I receive the following message when Approving the sign in request
"this request could not be completed due to network connectivity issues. Try to log in again. Error Code 5001"
I have to use the security code to login. Happens in multiple locations and whether the phone is on wifi, or using the celluar network, so general connectivity is not in question.
I'd like to also note that I have deleted and reinstalled the application without it resolving the issue.
FWIW, @mark.fletcher, I have the same issues and did the same as you to no avail.
Feedback sent to Apple as well.
My post here keeps disappearing...
@Mark Fletcher - I have the same experience here on iPhone 11 Pro Max.
Deleted and setup the VIP app twice and configured on the portal with same errors. You CAN use the security code instead, but that takes away the ease of use from the setup.
Looks like I have inadvertantly discovered a 'fix' for this - and confirmed by @Scott Boettcher.
If you 'Deny' a login request (ie hit the 'Deny' option on your mobile). Subsequent requests will work if you hit the 'Accept' button.
Can't explain it, but it seems to work.
Interesting find. Have you tried this with more than one iPhone? Also, what iOS version is it?
Mark pinged me at work - I have an 11 Pro Max and older 6s. Fixed both of them. "Fixed" Not sure what to think, but functionality is back so I'll dodge with semantics and leave a real fix to Symantec ;)
iPhone 11 is on 13.3.1 beta
iPhone 6s 13.3 release
Are you running VIP Access 4.2.7 on the device?
I am running an iPhone 7 on IOS 13.3.1 Public Beta 1, and have had the issue since IOS 13. I am running VIP Access 4.2.7.
Hi, any updates on this issue?
Scott - because of the SSL change, any in-flight traffic, including PUSH, would have needed to be terminated during that time or until the transaction would have timed out.
Otherwise, upgrading to the latest version of the app (4.2.7) has resolved the issue in most situations. Some exceptions include phones managed by the company (mdm), which may require a policy adjustment to allow for the upgrade. If paired with an iWatch, a repair of the device to re-establish the trust may be necessary.
Are you still seeing issues?
