endpoints on 14.3 not getting automatic definition updates from sepm

endpoints on 14.3 not getting automatic definition updates from sepm;
The sepm is on build 14.2 RU2 MP1; 
the endpoints both windows 10 and server 2016 have to run the Liveupdate manually to get the latest updates.

The sepm console shows the clients as healthy.
we have tried to modify the Liveupdate policy to uncheck the "use the default management server" option and it does not have any affect to force the endpoints running ver 14.3 to go to Symantec live update servers;
Any ideas how we can get this reoslved

14.3 clients cannot update from a 14.2 RU2 MP1 SEPM.  The SEPM must be 14.3 before these clients will update content automatically from the SEPM.
