  • 1.  64 bit client cannot update virus definitions after upgrade to 14.3.558

    Hello,

Did anyone upgrade SEP client on 64 bit OS and is it updating virus definitions?
I just upgraded the SEPM servers (64 bit OS) and the SEP clients on both management servers to 14.3.558 but the clients are not updating the virus definitions.
When I look into C:\Program Files (x86)\Symantec\Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager\Inetpub\content\ContentInfo.txt, I see only the virus definitions for 32 bit OS but not for 64:

    {1A79EE79-891B-4CB6-9A00-8D07FC6BF1FF}: SEPC Virus Definitions SDS Win32 14.3 - MicroDefsB.CurDefs - SymAllLanguages

Is there any bug in the new version, why there is no 64 bit definitions? We need urgent update and fix as this may stop upgrade of the whole environment

    Regards,
    Stefan

It's even worse, I just noticed that none of the 64 bit machines (no matter the client version) are getting updates after the upgrade of the SEPM to 14.3.
Only 32 bit machines with version older than 14.3 are updating.

Issue solved. Seems that during the upgrade of the SEPMs, something went wrong and 64 bit definitions got corrupted (also they didn't show in ContentInfo.txt file).
I just ran manually LiveUpdate on the SEPM server and it downloaded the 14.3 64 bit definitions and they appeared in ContentInfo.txt file. Now all 64 bit machines started updating
