I've noticed something a little strange in my client list in Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager: Many clients in the list show autoconfigure (169.254.*.*) IP addresses. But when I go to one of those computers, or look at the address leases on the DHCP server, it shows a correct DHCP-provided address. A few computers would do this before the recent craziness made us all start working from home, but it's worse now. Remote users have to manually log in and make a VPN connection in order to contact the SEPM. The VPN connection gives them a DHCP from the firewall.
Other management apps (such as WSUS and my service desk app) do not show this behavior.
