SEP Blocking Visual Studio exes

    Hello:

I have a client that needs to compile C/Cpp project with Microsoft Visual Studio.  When the compiling is done and the .exe is created, Symantec detects the executable as a heuristic virus and deletes them. It is only a "Hello World" program, see attachment.  What would be our best practice to have these compiled exes not be blocked.

I would suggest setting up Exclusions in your Exceptions Policy.

You would go to Monitors > Logs > Risk Log in the SEPM.

Find the detection.  Then select to exclude it.
