i have no specific justification which i show to my management that why i want this change
Please give me 10-15 points of justifications to upgrading to MR4-MP1 from MR2

    Thanks

U should go for MR4MP2. But for that u should first upgrade to MR4 then MP1or2. Best feature is that the managenet console is supported on Win 2008 Server.

There are certain bugs in MR1,2,3 and to overcome those Symantec Has released the MR4. the updated version of any software is always released in oder of better performance and low defect level.

There are quite a few changes made in mr4mp2 but what really depends is the issues that you are facing is that fixed.

    Some common issues like
Proactive Threat Protection displays the status "Waiting for Update" after a client migration

Windows Security displays the warning "MALWARE PROTECTION out of date" after a user manually runs an Active Scan or a Complete Scan

Clients cannot download content from Group Update Provider (GUP)--This was a major issue

During installation of LiveUpdate, lucheck.exe returns an invalid error code

Ping response times increase in releases since Symantec Endpoint Protection 11 MR3

Inconsistent behavior with NTP "Microsoft Windows Networking" settings---Used to block network shares

Deleting old packages generates errors in the Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager during manual LiveUpdate

Slow process of DAT files in the Inbox\Agentinfo folder on the Manager
    - But i am still not sure if it is completely fixed

And many more which you can check in the release notes for sep

Question arises  that "Is this neccesary that symantec provides new Maintenance release for fixing bugs?
why this bugs cannot be fixed by content downloading of SEPM?

You do not get a chance to test it if its directly downloaded by content download.
People choose diffrent options for deployment .
Backup exec and SEPare two diffrent technologies with diffrent design so for any antivirus product udate it has to be upgraded.
SEPm should download the packages for mr4mp2,

    One more question i have

I want to take weekly report on my corporate email address
As far as i know how to do this is i applied which is as follows:-

navigate through admin tab->servers->SEPM->Edit Server Properties->Mail Tab
    Now here four boxes came
Email Server Address:- here i will give IP of Lotus notes Server
Port Number:- Dont know what it will be
    Username:-hussainahmed@xyz.com
    Password:-pwd

My company is using lotus notes for corporate Emails solution.

Then navigate again reports tab->scheduled reports tab->add->fill out form,
in receipients which will receive that reports

    my email address is hussainahmed@xyz.com
so i will give this email address
Now on which step i am going wrong that i am unable to receive reports on my corporate email address

Remove the password as it does not require password.
You can leave it blank and let us know if you are receiving the notifications.
