  • 1.  Not creating Span .ghs files

    Posted Oct 25, 2017 07:21 PM

After attempting to capture a Windows 10 image, the Ghost cast only creates a single .gho file. The total size of the captured image should be rougly 20 gigs in size after compression, however the it only captures a .gho file of about 1.8 gb and does not creat a span of .ghs files. I am not recieving any errors, it just fails to capture the entire image.

    1. What version of Ghost?

    2. Where are you trying to store the image?  Locally?  Network?

    3. If storing locally, is the device formatted FAT32 or NTFS?

    4. What command line are you using?

    Hi,

    Please try a pointfix.

The GhostCastServer can not deploy the images due to: Span Volume [1] Done (1660)
    https://knowledge.broadcom.com/external/article?articleId=194865
The GhostCastServer won't create *.ghs files even if image file size is bigger than 2.0GB.

    Thanks,

    1. Replace the following files.
    C:\Program Files (x86)\Symantec\Ghost\GhostSrv.exe
    C:\Program Files (x86)\Symantec\Ghost\GhostSrv64.exe
    C:\Program Files (x86)\Symantec\Ghost\bootwiz\OEM\GSS\winpe\x64\Base\ghost\ghost64.exe
    C:\Program Files (x86)\Symantec\Ghost\bootwiz\OEM\GSS\winpe\x86\Base\ghost\ghost32.exe

    2. Recreate the boot disk.
