  • 1.  Registry key to identify hardware vs software encrypted disks?

    Posted Aug 06, 2021 12:56 PM
    Hello.

I'm looking to run a query based on which machines are hardware or software encrypted and hoped there is a registry key for it.

    I *think* it might be:

    SOFTWARE\Encryption Anywhere\Hard Disk\EAFS\Disk0\EncrService but I'm not sure.

    Thanks for the help!

    Registry for white listing is 'Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Encryption Anywhere\Hard Disk\NonEDrive List\WhiteList'

Please see the article https://knowledge.broadcom.com/external/article?legacyId=TECH235480 for more details.

    Hello.

I understand where the whitelist is.

My question was, is there a registry key that I can query that will tell me whether a drive is hardware or software encrypted.

    Thanks.

    Hi Mark,

I don't see any registry setting which can tell us about the Hardware encryption. You may need to use SEE Management Agent UI, or eedAdminCli.exe --status command or server reports to know the status of Hardware or Software encryption.
