    Any suggestions as to a method of backing up my computer to an external hard drive?  For some reason the computer does ont see the external device.  I'm thinking the encrypted hard drive might have something to do with this issue.

    If your encypted machine is booted up and Windows is running, then any backups to an external resource will just work as normal (but result in decrypted files being copied off).

    If you're trying to do a full disk (or bare metal) backup of an encypted machine, then the below article should help!
