Hello,

We are currently running Symantec IGA version 14.5.1 with the corresponding version of Connector Xpress. While reviewing the documentation, we came across Connector Xpress 2.0, which includes REST capabilities that are of interest to us.

We have some questions regarding the relationship between these two versions:

  1. Coexistence: Can Connector Xpress 2.0 and the legacy Connector Xpress be installed and run on the same server simultaneously?
  2. Replacement: Does Connector Xpress 2.0 replace the legacy version entirely, or are they intended to be used independently?
  3. Impact on existing connectors: If we adopt Connector Xpress 2.0, will there be any impact on our currently configured and functioning connectors?

Any guidance or documentation references on this topic would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you.

Hi Jean

To answer your questions

  1. Connector Xpress 2.0 and Legacy Connector Xpress can most definitely be installed and run on the same server.
  2. Connector Xpress 2.0 is solely for creating REST base connectors, while legacy Connector Xpress is for generating dynamic JNDI. JDBC and SDKWS based connector - therefore the 2 complement each other by providing a variety of connectors which can be created and deployed, for IGA to use.
  3. There is no impact what so ever on existing connectors. Connector Xpress 2.0 is used to generate new, additional REST based connectors.

Please ensure you are utilizing the latest version of IGA and Connector Xpress 2.0 - 14.5.1 CHF1 if not already used (available here)

In addition, we would like to remind you that IGA 14.5 will reach EOS in September this year. To learn more about the new IGA v15 release and the association migration / deployment process, we highly recommend reviewing the videos available in our education portal.

For any further assistance, please feel free to share any follow up queries.
