After using the API for some years, I've come across some issues:

1. A lot of cases where you have to run individual commands for each action - e.g. no bulk delete. We should be able to specify the criteria and then delete the devices and not have to first go and find the model handles first. E.g. we can enter criteria to find specific models which start with some text. Why not allow us to use the same method to specify logic and give an action to delete (REST DELETE call?).

2. Similar to the one above, you can't bulk update attributes based on similar criteria. E.g. find all interface models which contain YY and set these attributes on those interface models. There is just too much having to get model handles beforehand before you can action them.

3. It would be great to self-document the API like CA PM where you can specially see what API calls are available and use them. The Spectrum REST API has so many hidden features which are not available unless you raise a ticket and get someone to provide it for you. From my viewpoint the API is one of the best things about CA Spectrum. You should be selling the REST API - not hiding it!

4. Event info. Please let us get event info via REST API - things like get me all the events with event code *** in the last  24 hours/7 days/month or between x and y date. This would be awesome and don't think it would take much effort/resources to develop and would be so useful!

It seems besides the odd fixes the API hasn't progressed much! Please give us more REST API love!!! I'd be happy to go into more detail if needed!

We have plans to look into this area and will definitely come up with needful solution to this soon.

Hello CA,

the idea will celebrate it's first birthday shortly, but it will be a very lonesome party without any feedback from CA side.

Any news to be mentioned here?

32 votes... Any chance for an updated list of the current focus areas? There used to be an update regarding what ideas were being considered, etc. I haven't seen any updates for a while.

A beefier doc would go a long way.

For instance, it would be really useful to have a list of the action codes available to use.
