The portal should be able to notify API consumers based on their subscription.

Ideally, the developer should have a place to subscribe email notifications they want to receive, options should includes but not limited to:

1. notify me on any changes made to any APIs available to me.

2. notify me on any changes made to any APIs published on this portal.

3. notify me on any changes made to my account plan.

For portal users belongs to multiple organizations, she/he should only receive one notification for a change to one API.

Two of my customers asked this feature so far, Discover and Motorola Mobility.

Very valuable feature.

API changes must be pushed to subscribers :

- new version available (version v): depending on governance process, the older one (version v-1) is deprecated. Developers are encouraged to test and access to API version v

- if the API is changed but does not required a versioning change (remains on version v) : no impact on final API consumer : useless notification

- API group : new APIs are added/some are deprecated/removed : notification is necessary

- A new API is pushed in public API catalog : interesting to broadcast the info !
