Currently, the only way to display task details in the AWI is using the Details button in the toolbar. This reveals a panel on the right side of the browser window where the task details appear, e.g, error messages explaining why tasks ended in status FAULT_OTHER. Often, the task details contain messages that are too long to be display, particularly if the browser window or device (e.g., tablet) is narrow. It is possible to widen the panel to display more of the information, but data are truncated if the panel is not wide enough to display them. This makes troubleshooting more difficult also in cases where there is plenty of screen area. Displaying the complete details of the task requires additional steps compared to with the JUI.
There should be a way to display the Task Details in a separate window. In this Task Details window, no data should be truncated. Instead data that are too long to be displayed on a single line should be wrapped to the next line. (In fact, the current task details panel should also not truncate data.)
This idea is included in the list of Java UI features that are missing from AWI.
