My user community desperately needs this feature.

Most wanted in our organization as improvement of our calldesk...

Our organisation is also very keen for attachments on Configuration Items.

and also the ability to change the status.

or perhaps the ability to include a direct link to a file that's already attached to the ticket?

Also Firefox ESR 10 is no longer supported by Mozilla and compatability with Firefox ESR 17 is now required as this is the only version that can be downloaded from the Mozilla website.

Why would you not send them a link to a knowledge article that already exists in SDM? By taking that approach, you would give them the opportunity to rate the document and provide input on if the solution resolved their issue or not and also allow them to close the ticket while there. This feature could be useful if you are supporting users who do not have access to the SDM interface, otherwise this discourages them from using SDM.

Many of our customers have asked for this functionality before.

As such we would love to have this in SDM.

I do believe however that we always need a way for things to be audited, so this could mean that CA will need to implement a way to have the attachements to outgoing emails stored in the system as well.
