One of our customers is already using Skype for business server 2015.
Is it possible to update the lync probe to support this version as well? Currently this is not the case, as CA support indicated.
We have a GA version 3.0 for lync monitor probe supporting Skype for Business 2015, below are the links.
for help and release notes
Other features like dynamic discovery of DB instances and NIC card to follow soon.
Not sure if anyone has seen but lync_monitor v3.0 includes Skype for Business 2015. My organization is still working with development to make further improvements. Areas to be aware to ease configuration. Define network interface profiles for both internal and external on Skype Edge servers (automated detection is being worked on by development). If use non-default databases those objects also need to be defined to correct DB target. Additionally there are few DB counters that do not have instance defined and no method to define. Development is also looking into that...
2016-03-31 Version: 3.00 (GA)
Added monitoring support of:
- Skype for Business Server 2015
- Microsoft Key Health Indicators for Lync Server 2010, Lync Server 2013 and Skye for Business Server 2015.
- Ability to rename the QoS group name and QoS name. For more information, see Rename QoS Group and QoS Names.
Not sure if CA intends to take items to GA that have come result of working with CA development to improve the probe for Skype for Business 2013 and be in ready state for 2015. Many core items were missing (services, processes, perf) just to name a few. Other items included making the network card and DB object targets dynamically discovered to save UIM administrator from having to manually define these values. Other improvements relate to QoS group and QoS object names to be more descriptive. This has been huge difference compared to current GA code which takes objects such as "Incoming Calls - Current" and reports QoS value as "- Current" which is also shared with several other values for incoming and outgoing. QoS group also references OCS which has since been updated to Skype_for_Business.
Same as our company and most of our clients. This needs to be addressed.
I will need this support as well very soon as my company is moving to Skype for Business 2015 as we speak.
