It would be nice to be able to add supporting documentation to configuration items, such as Purchase Orders,Invoices, vendor correspondence, etc.

I use the Knowledge Base associated with the Configuration Items. Also use the attachments on the Knowledge Base to supplement information. We have just the Service Desk Manager.
