Attachments on Configuration Items

It would be nice to be able to add supporting documentation to configuration items, such as Purchase Orders,
Invoices, vendor correspondence, etc.

I use the Knowledge Base associated with the Configuration Items. Also use the attachments on the Knowledge Base to supplement information. We have just the Service Desk Manager.

This can also be accomplished by creating a knowledge document and attaching that to the CI.  This is supported OOTB

Was suprised that this is an open idea.<br>In our  SDM12.6 environment we have the tab attachment where we can relate documents but also relate url&#39;s to a Ci. As far as I can remember an out of thebox.<br><br>Because it is very usefull to us I promote this for all of you as well<br><br>

Instead of Service Desk Manager, CA Asset Manager makes a better tool to load supporting documentation such as purchase orders, invoices, and vendor correspondence. This document explains why, in the context of best-practices, and also distinguishes CMDB (Configuration Management) from Asset Management. Of course, these tools work together to provide “out of the box” just what Anthony sought. They do it better than a service desk manager, and work together for overall service management.<br>

Even though CA does not offer this out of the box, there are ways to customize SDM so that it does allow for attachments on CIs, but it would still be nice for this functionality to be OOTB.
